This set was originally billed as "Sly and the Family Stone", but later changed to just "Sly Stone".
This set was originally scheduled to take place in the Gobi tent from 7:00pm to 7:45pm. But due to postponements, festival organizers moved (and announced via their Twitter account) that they were being moved to the Mojave Tent for a 10:45pm performance (Yann Tiersen, who was slated for that slot in the Mojave tent, ended up playing earlier in the tent, filling in the empty slot left by Gary Numan, who had to cancel his appearance).
The set is often described as a "train wreck", with Sly Stone, who arrived late on stage (after 11pm, 15 minutes later than the stated 10:45pm start time), often ranting on stage and hardly singing/performing any of the songs, many of which were started and then abandoned shortly afterwards. During "I Want to Take You Higher", Sly Stone, jumped down off the stage into the photo pit and shortly exited afterwards, thus essentially ending the set.
